Digital media production: the supplier rate ladder
Our supplier audit (Fiverr, 2026-09-13, plus one DealFuel posting from the same date) prices nine digital media production roles from a $103 average down through commission-based floor pay.
At the top, face-presenter (ugc/spokesperson) work averages From $103, with a floor of $5 across 100 gigs and 200,000+ results. Below that: voice over averages From $68 (floor $5, 52 gigs, 22,000+ results); discord community manager averages From $58 (floor $5, 48 gigs, 32,000+ results); faceless-video editing averages From $44 (floor $5, 104 gigs, 47,000+ results); lead-gen outreach averages From $43 (floor $5, 52 gigs, 47,000+ results); youtube thumbnail design averages From $27 (floor $5, 51 gigs, 94,000+ results); and clips/repurpose work averages From $21 (floor $5, 48 gigs, 39,000+ results) — whop-clips pays per view instead of a flat rate. VA/data-entry research also averages From $21 (floor $5, 52 gigs, 48,000+ results). At the bottom, the DealFuel closer role pays 10–12% of cash collected plus a $100/deal bonus, with an OTE of $25–30k/mo at $400k/mo collected.
Two of these roles sit on a deterministic replacement path. Voice over, at $68, is the role ElevenLabs replaces — a script becomes narration through a tool call rather than a supplier gig. Video editing, at $44 (the faceless-video listing), is the role Remotion replaces — cuts, captions and assembly become a code render rather than a commissioned edit. Both are among the highest-priced roles on the ladder, and both take a fully specified input (a script) to a fully specified output (a video), which is what makes them tool-replaceable.
The remaining roles resist that path because the work is not fully specified in advance: face-presenter ($103) sells a human face and voice; community-mod ($58) reads and responds to a live Discord in real time; outreach ($43) and closer (10–12% of cash collected) negotiate with a counterparty; designer ($27) makes a per-thumbnail judgment call; clipper ($21) and researcher-verifier ($21) select and check rather than just produce.
For an autonomous operator, removing the $68 voice role and the $44 video-editing role strips out the two largest tool-replaceable line items on the roster, leaving the $103 face-presenter role as the single highest remaining cost and the 10–12%-of-cash-collected closer role as the only remaining variable-cost line.
